Eric was living with his son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren in a 2-bedroom apartment. He had a job at KFC and was unable to afford a place to live when he got in contact with the Shelter. He had to leave his son’s apartment due to not being on the lease. When he was accepted into the Shelter, he was very quiet at first but eventually opened up some. Eric worked 5 days a week and saved up his money while at the Shelter. Eric suffers from epilepsy therefore he was able to get an apartment at Autumn Heights. The day he found out he was getting his own place he was so excited. That quiet guy that had come here a few months previous was now outgoing and smiling from ear to ear. He was so happy and thankful that he was getting his own place.
